I decided to use a small multi-pack from a well-known brand because I was very pleased with the stuff I've used from Dewalt in the past.

For a low price, I got the result I wanted by using a single punch, pushing hard and drilling slowly into some cheap pine scraps, and using 150 grit sandpaper to make sure there were no burrs.

It was drilling through a screw that was just as big as a hot knife. After drilling through two inches of bolt, it didn't seem to show any wear on the drill.

The steel was not very thick, and I was able to cut it to length using a reciprocating saw.

I am very happy with the drill bits I am using for fabrication of the Street Rod frame.

    Question & Answers

    Q:

What percent of cobalt is it?

    A:

The manufacturer says the set has 8% cobalt, which would make it grade M42.

    Q:

If this is a dumb question, please do not ask it. Will they fit a dewalt hammer drill?

    A:

They'll fit any drill chick, the only thing they don't fit is impact drivers that require a hex shank, they will fit but never use the hammer setting with thest bits, it will ruin them.

    Q:

    Are they M42 grade?

    A:

    The set is M35 grade.

    Q:

I have a trailer made of thin angle iron that has trouble drilling through what type of bit do I need?

    A:

Don't rush it, just go slow on the speed, have a little shot glass of oil and dip the bit in for about 10 seconds.

    Q:

Will this be able to drill out a M8Phillips head screw from a rusty rotor?

    A:

I used it to drill out steel rivets from a bed frame.
