About Midea Cube 50 Pint Dehumidifier for Basement and Rooms at Home
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
74% of users praised the dehumidifier's impressive capacity
This dehumidifier is versatile with its high power rating and smart bucket design.
I have mentioned the dehumidifier's capacity to extract moisture from the air within a specified time frame and its powerful performance.
I really like the performance and convenience of this dehumidifier. It provides great relief from the moderate humidity of my coastal northeast summer.
I need a dehumidifier with higher capacity that can remove moisture from a large space and has enough storage capacity so that it only needs emptying once a day.
I don't particularly care about the accuracy of the humidity indicator as long as it pulls moisture out of the air effectively, which it does judging by the water it collects and the lack of condensation on the windows in the space it's used in.
The reservoir is huge and I can go a couple of days between emptying, but it requires some muscle to lift off the dehumidifier unit and pick up the bucket which fortunately has a built-in handle.
I gave the dehumidifier a 5-star rating as it pulls more water out of the air quicker than any prior dehumidifier I have used.
My top priorities for a dehumidifier are large bucket capacity, energy star rating and quietness.
77% highlighted the low noise level, but 23% found it too loud
Fan noise is not an issue as we are using it in a cafe.
Dehumidifiers run semi-loudly with fans to dehumidify your home, based on my experience.
I have noticed that this dehumidifier is fairly noisy and can be compared to a box fan on low/medium. However, there is a high and low fan setting which can make it a touch quieter.
80% were satisfied with the portability features although, 20% weren't
The dehumidifier is easy to move around with high walls and a large bucket area, reducing the risk of water spillage during uneven carrying. It also has an adjustable fill limit for stopping at a lower volume of water. Based on my experience, I can say that it is user-friendly.
The bucket carry handle is very convenient.
The dehumidifier lacks wheels, which would make it easier to move around the basement when cleaning. However, it is not too heavy to move if there is no water in it.
The dehumidifier is not very portable as the large open bucket is clumsy to empty when full and it is a challenge to move it without splashing. A cover would make it easier, but it would still be a drag to remove the heavy unit to empty.
75% were satisfied with the drainage options
If I had a nearby drain, I would use the built-in pump for continuous use.
I found that the dehumidifier has two drainage options - one is to drain into the cube-shaped base, which has a sizable volume, and the other is to drain through the included hose into a sump in continuous draining. I opted for the continuous draining option.
I recommend this dehumidifier for those without a place to drain in bucketless mode. The bucket has a larger volume, so it needs to be emptied less frequently.
I need to lift the moderately heavy dehumidifier unit to detach it before carrying the bucket to a drain, even if I only want to empty it after a small amount of water is accumulated.
Like most dehumidifiers, I can still use the same dehumidifier in a more convenient mode if I move somewhere with easy access from the dehumidifier to an outlet, thanks to the passive drain feature.
I can set the dehumidifier on a surface and attach the hose to drain the water to a sink or floor drain. But I cannot use the dehumidifier on top of the bucket and still use the hose as the drain hole is obstructed by the side of the bucket.
I can connect the dehumidifier to a hose for self-draining.
80% found the filter maintenance hassle-free, however 20% struggled
The filters are easy to remove.
I haven't cleaned the Midea filters yet, but I hope it will be easy after seeing the tips on here. I compared it with LG and found that cleaning the filter on LG was a simple process with a couple of snaps holding it in place.
I have found that some people struggle with removing the filters, but I can explain the correct way to do it. Once you know how, it's easy to remove them.
76% of users were impressed by the advanced features and controls
I appreciate the larger volume of water storage provided by the bucket, which requires less frequent emptying.
I appreciate the high walls and large area of the bucket, which reduces the risk of water damage from uneven carrying.
I appreciate the various functionalities of the app, including tank levels and full tank forecast, adjusting target humidity and fan speed, and setting up schedules. The remote control worked instantly.
I am satisfied with the performance and convenience of the dehumidifier. It provides great relief from the moderate humidity of my coastal northeast summer.
The app is easy to use and I can control the dehumidifier from anywhere in the world.
The dehumidifier has an app that can be set up on your phone in just a minute or two.
The display for current humidity cannot be set below 30%.
78% acknowledged energy efficiency, yet 22% didn't
I have noticed the amount of energy consumed by the dehumidifier in different modes.
The dehumidifier consumes different amounts of energy in different modes.
If set up in continuous drain mode, we don't need to place it on the base, making its footprint very small.
The dehumidifier is effective in bringing down humidity levels, but it puts off quite a bit of heat.
