Hygger dual sponges aquarium filter is for small, medium, and large fish tank use. Comes with a bag of ceramic media balls, can be run by a most air pump (larger than 4W) the filter will help benefit nitrifying bacteria to live and grow in the aquarium water. The bio sponge filters are detachable, easy to install - with 2 strong suction cups to keep the filters stay in place, with no visible working parts on the tank lining. It's very easy to buy more ceramic media balls. Nitrobacter must be attached to a fixed surface before the nitrogen cycle can take place. Fine sponges with ultra-strong water absorption, will give much more surface area for beneficial bacteria to live on. 2 spare sponges - replace once every three to six months or when the sponge gets worn out. Replace one by one, the interval could be 2 weeks or more. Water outlet adjustable The air outlet tube is telescopic, can be adjusted above the water line or below, and it needs an aquarium air pump and airline hose (4mm) to run this filter. Clean one of the two sponges once a month or so. It slides off easily when you pull up on it. Rinse and squeeze repetitively at least 5 to 10 times till you see no more dirty water coming from the sponge. Repeat for 2 to 3 more days till the aquarium has crystal clear water.
