For hardwood floor, I typically use eco mode but for rugs or carpet, I find the higher setting to be the best.
I find the stick vacuum great for hardwood floors and bathrooms. I also use it on scatter rugs on my wood floors.
I use the vacuum on various surfaces including area rugs, bathroom mats, upholstery, small floor clean-ups, vinyl floors, and tile.
On hardwood floors, the vacuum works well and it does okay with the area rugs in my living room.

I loved the vacuum but it was very loud and powerful enough to self-destruct the beater brush.
When I use the vacuum on carpet, it sounds like a dying toy car or something.

The dustbin capacity is not enough for serious cleaning job.
The dust canister is too small to vacuum a whole room in one shot.
Clearing the dustbin takes me 20 minutes or more and I have to do it every couple of uses.

I can quickly detach the vacuum head to convert it to a hand held crevice tool.
My only complaint is that the vacuum should have been designed with a place for the attachments, preferably on the vacuum itself, but the wall mount would have been acceptable.

The battery life is good and lasts for over 30 minutes on heavy usage. The battery indicator lets me know how much power is left.
The vacuum's battery lasts for 40-50 minutes, compared to the ds4020 version's 30 minutes.
I found that the vacuum's battery life is not long enough and needs to be charged for 4 hours. However, I was able to finish vacuuming my 1200 sq ft apartment before the battery started to die.
I ran out of battery power right before finishing vacuuming every room in my house.

The vacuum has a button for extra strong suction in dirtier areas.
When there is debris in the chamber, there is no vacuum power. Clearing the chamber of debris ensures enough air flow to create suction.
I have used vacuums with better suction power than this one.
I noticed that the vacuum lacks sufficient suction power to pick up even light weight litter.
