I was suggested by the plumber to use a degreaser to avoid calling him again. I am currently on my third bottle and have not faced any issues yet, indicating that the chemical drain opener is effective in preventing grease build-up.
I have been using this chemical drain opener every day for a week since I got it and it is doing what it says it will do. The pipe is not backing up into the sink and the sink doesn't smell horrendous. Based on my experience, I can say that this is a positive review for the effectiveness of the product on various materials.
