The setup went very smoothly and it took no more than 5 minutes for both 2.4 and 5ghz.
Despite having a router that provides both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, I never saw the 5ghz LED light up on my unit.
65% were satisfied with the ethernet ports
I have experienced a stable and fast connection via ethernet cable when connecting my laptop to the extender.
73% appreciated the security features
I assigned and hid a unique SSID just for this extender, which is a built-in security measure to protect the extended network from unauthorized access.
82% found it easy to set up, however 18% encountered difficulties
I had no trouble setting up the unit multiple times on multiple routers using the app, if one factory resets the Extender first on each setup.
Setting up the TP-Link extender was super easy and I was done in about 10 minutes. There is an option to change the name of the extended network(s) during setup, which is a great feature that allows me to see exactly how much my overall network is improved by adding this new device.
The setup process was very easy and I had it installed and working within minutes.
I was able to set it up and get it running in about 5 minutes, it was super easy.
Another extender has a data transfer speed of 20-25 mbps for 2.4ghz and 50-60 mbps for 5ghz.
After connecting to the extender, I got a speed of 70+ Mbps.
I experienced an average data transfer speed of 110-150 MBPS down with noticeable latency using the extender.
After connecting to the extender, my link speed reduced from 250+ Mbs to 120 Mbs.
While connected to the extender, I am only getting 300mbps speed despite having gigabit internet.
83% appreciated the coverage range, although, 17% found dead zones
The wifi extender extended the coverage to gazebo, firepit and entire yard.
The extender has a good coverage range as the signal strength increased from medium to full coverage of my home, including the basement.
After installing the extender in a room with limited signal strength, my signal improved. However, the next room still had poor and inconsistent signal strength, and I lost the signal if I moved to the far side of the room.
My jack on the bottom uses only 4 of the 8 pins, resulting in bridged Ethernet speeds of less than 100mbps.
