About WAVLINK AC600 Outdoor Weatherproof Upgrade Version Extender
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
81% were satisfied with the ethernet ports, but 19% weren't
The ethernet port supports only 100Mbps.
70% found it easy to setup
I found the installation process easy and user-friendly. I also appreciated the power over ethernet feature, which was one of the reasons for my purchase of this particular unit.
70% liked the data transfer speed, although 30% desired faster connectivity
After connecting the Wavlink to my router using an Ethernet cable, I achieved a download speed of 72 Mbps.
91% found the dual band capability helpful
I installed the unit on an existing antenna pole about 22 feet high with POE and now the entire area has full signal strength in both 2.4 and 5 ghz.
During setup, connect the extender to the 5GHz band if the signal is available where it is being mounted.
72% appreciated the coverage range, although, 28% found dead zones
I have excellent wifi coverage up to 500 from my house and entire barnyard, allowing me to install wifi cameras at various locations.
I installed the unit on an existing antenna pole about 22 feet high with POE and now the entire area has full signal strength in both 2.4 and 5 ghz.
At a distance of 45M in line of sight, the signal is weak but usable.
The wifi extender did not work even at a distance of 10 feet, let alone 500 feet.
I am disappointed with the Ethernet port of the extender. It is only 10/100 and I am not able to get over 97 out of it in AP mode wired to my router. I expected a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port for the price I paid.
I got 46/27 on extended network 5g and 24/28 on 2g.
