About Wohome Soundbar S89 28-Inch 80W with HDMI-ARC
Overall Feedback:
91% positive
85% liked the sound quality, yet 15% expressed dissatisfaction
I bought a Sony bar and got better, easier, and flawless audio in just 10 minutes on component, arc, and Bluetooth.
Sound quality is decent at anything below about “medium”. Anything beyond medium and it gets a bit poor in the bass and the highs snap a tiny bit. Below that crunchy range and this speaker has a very good sound.
72% appreciated the audio modes, however 28% found them redundant
MUSIC or EQ 1 mode was the best overall sounding for music and dialog combined.
Initially, I used the BT mode but faced a lip sync issue, so I switched to HDMI-ARC mode.
The sound signature of the sound bar resembles that of a PA system, which is not good for home movie watching.
79% were impressed with the design
The design of the soundbar is sleek and modern and it matches with the black framed TV.
This soundbar is a perfect size for my 32” television in the basement. I feel that anything larger would look physically too small and might not match the sound performance with the visual size of my television.
80% highlighted the subwoofer performance, but 20% found it lacking
Bass was non-existent and my tiny JBL mobile speaker puts out more bass than this sound-bar.
68% found it easy to connect with smart assistants, although 32% faced issues
I had to jerry-rig the connection for the soundbar to work because it is not listed as a compatible soundbar in the firestick settings.
82% praised the connectivity range, yet 18% faced signal drop-offs
The user mentioned that the bluetooth function paired to his phone fast and has not dropped a connection yet.
The sound quality of the television is worse than a 1970s pocket transistor radio. The manufacturers use the cheapest quality speakers and amplifier circuits to save costs.
The sound quality of this sound-bar is pretty good for a lower cost unit. Although it is not as good as Bose or super high quality, it is still decent.
