About VIZIO VSB200 Universal HD Sound Bar
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
73% liked the sound quality
The sound quality is significantly better that I no longer use my television's original speakers. I rely on this device 100% for audio.
82% appreciated the audio modes, however 18% found them redundant
Soundbar fulfills the richness of movie music and they can hear the stereo effects when an auto crosses the screen.
Virtual surround-sound mode can be turned on or off by pressing a button and it is great for movies.
I tried out the feature that equalizes the volume, and I found it quite useful. It could be beneficial for those annoyed by louder commercial breaks or the varying sound levels in movies.
The enhanced surround mode (SRS TruSurround HD) works well for Blu-Ray movies and gaming through PS3 connected via HDMI to the TV.
Soundbar goes into a sort of protect mode when watching anything with action, specifically a wide range of peaking audio like gunshots or scifi style sound effects.
83% were impressed with the design
Sound-bar has a modern and sleek look with rounded and smooth edges. The bar comes with two legs that function as a stand and can be reversed for wall mounting.
78% highlighted the subwoofer performance
Sound bar performs well when paired with a sub-woofer and it is almost as good as a 5.1 surround.
86% found it easy to connect with smart assistants, although 14% faced issues
The soundbar might not be compatible with the digital optical port connection, unless the user has the same model TV or perhaps a Panasonic TV.
I connected the soundbar to my Vizio television, expecting them to be compatible, but unfortunately, the television couldn't discover the soundbar.
80% praised the connectivity range, yet 20% faced signal drop-offs
I've experienced that the remote has a limited range, failing to function beyond 8 feet. I tried operating it from different distances and angles to confirm this limitation.
Remote has limited range and the sound was not properly synching with people talking.
The sound quality of this sound-bar is pretty good for a lower cost unit. Although it is not as good as Bose or super high quality, it is still decent.
I've noticed that the crystal clear sounds often become muffled and merge together, especially during action-packed scenes or when multiple people are talking. It becomes challenging to distinguish between sounds and words, and in complex scenes, I find myself having to rewind to catch missed dialogue or just accepting that some parts are indistinguishable.
