I think the 409 discs would be better because it would be easier to carve a narrow enough slot for the biggest flathead screwdrivers that I had in the house.
I needed to carve a slot on a stripped screw and these look like they could do it with enough time and patience. They are sturdy as all hell and they look like they could cut through anything, with enough time and patience.
It was a mistake on my part, and I found that the 426 fiberglass reinforced Cut-Off wheels are recommended over the 420 wheels.
I have used them to cut a lot of material but they don't work very well with plastic and light sheet metal, but I used to help shape the hole for my snorkel on a TJ.
It works well with plastic and bone, but it is not "reinforced", which is good if you want to be safe.
