About LEM Products Stainless Steel Big Bite Electric Meat Grinder
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
88% appreciated the grinding speed, but 12% didn't
When using the grinder, it's important to avoid overloading it and to send small amounts down to prevent jamming and burning of meat. The second grind or stuffing is fast.
I noticed that the grinder did not grind meat as fast as it was rated to and had to continually stop because it kept getting hot.
I expected a faster grind on the 1/8 for stuffing into bags for freezing.
89% found it easy to clean, but 11% didn't
I suggest using a small tool like a toothpick to clean the small hole blade when finished.
The guard in the hopper over the loading shut is difficult to clean and there are many places for bacteria to hide.
93% liked the motor power
The product has ample power and stainless parts that allow dishwasher cleaning and sanitization.
90% were satisfied with the grinding capacity, while 10% were not
I initially thought that the grinder was not strong enough to grind raw chicken with bones, but later realized that the course/fine grinding plate caused it to get clogged and backed up.
I was able to grind 15 pounds of brisket trimmings for sausage in less than 5 minutes, with both course and fine grinds.
I was able to grind a 10lb pork butt in one grind through the 4.5 mm plate in just 2 minutes. It ground the meat faster than I could feed it.
I ran 10lbs of meat through the grinder on the biggest plate and the grinder auger and auger housing got overheated.
When using the grinder, it's important to avoid overloading it and to send small amounts down to prevent jamming and burning of meat. The second grind or stuffing is fast.
If you follow the process of freezing the meat and adding ice cubes, it ensures that the meat goes through the dies without breaking the teeth out of your grinder.
I noticed that the grinder required a little push with the stomper to pull the meat in, but then it worked fine.
