I love the Canon color science and the detail.
The photo quality is very good even with the kit lens.

When buying lenses, it's important to get the IS version if stabilization is important while on the go. The camera doesn't have on board image stabilization and will rely on the lenses.
I recommend pairing the camera with a lens that has image stabilization and quiet focus as the camera lacks image stabilization and it is noticeable.

The Dual Pixel Autofocus system in the SL2 is the best autofocus system for video in any camera on the market. It has trickled down from the 70D and 80D.
I have praised the autofocus feature with dual pixels, which always focuses on me with two focus points even while I am walking and talking to the viewers. This feature is usually expected in higher price bracket cameras.
