The challenge is to identify appealing items that can be picked up a minimal cost and possibly resuscitated with a reasonable allocation of man hours.

If you buy this product, beware that I use an old english wood protector over it to make sure my paper towel doesn't come up brown before I sit on it.

I can't tell you how many times the fluid brought my dingy treasures back to life, but I have had a lot of success covering deeper scratches by applying the oil with toothbrush.

I spread the oil with the paint brush and then spread it out to the rest of the wood, letting a little thick layer sit on the lightest areas for a few minutes.

It doesn't look like it needs to be refinished, but it is distressed and needs to be wiped and buff.

    Question & Answers

    Q:

Will it cover knicks in the wood, as opposed to just scratches?

    A:

If you have a knick that is a bit deep, fill it with a shoe polish color that matches your wood.

    Q:

How much does the dark wood product cover scratch?

    A:

I had some scratches from my cat that were slightly deeper, but it did nothing.

    Q:

Does this work on dark bamboo wood floors?

    A:

I think this product does a good job of covering the light surface scratches on my dark bamboo floors, I apply with a paper towel and wipe over with my hard floor cleaner.

    Q:

Is it possible to paint clear lacquer over the Old English polish?

    A:

You can seal it with Lacquer, the Old English must be dry.

    Q:

Does it clean the furniture as well as the other things, or do I need to use their cleaner first?

    A:

I love using this cleaning oil on wood and other things. I don't think you'll need a cleaner first.
