About TP-Link AV1000 Powerline WiFi Extender(TL-WPA7510 KIT)
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
77% were satisfied with the ethernet ports, but 23% weren't
In my house, the powerline Ethernet works quite well and I get up to 500MB/s.
When I hooked up the TP-Link AV1000Mbps with the provided ethernet Cat5 cable, it gave a very slow speed of 50-60 mbps.
81% appreciated the security features
I suggest syncing the units after setup to secure the Powerline network and prevent unauthorized access.
I customized the SSID, password and channels of the web management system.
I suggest taking a picture of the label on the left side of the extender to identify how it will appear on the wifi network list and provide the password, especially if it's in a hard-to-access location.
After setup, it is important to change the default admin password for added security.
78% found it easy to setup
The installation process is easy, even a baby can do it.
The setup process for the Wi-Fi extender is very simple and only takes a few minutes. You don't need to be technically proficient to set it up.
83% liked the data transfer speed, although 17% desired faster connectivity
I am not getting more than 30mbps off the big extender and 20 on the small one, even though my internet is 100mbps. This is a drop in speeds of more than 60%.
On a speedtest, my actual transfer speed never went above 100mbps.
78% appreciated the coverage range
By placing the base nest next to the modem router and then the extender in the garage, I was able to increase the area of coverage by about 1/4 acre. This was important because calling over Wi-Fi was my only hope, and I needed to research items on the web or even get something from the cloud.
I lost 200Mbps out of 600Mbps download speed when connecting to the extender.
