I have sealed over 2000 thick and tough bags with the vacuum-sealer. I had to press down hard to get a good consistent seal. I pushed the setting past the recommended max and it actually works well. The fabric that protects the bag from direct contact with the heating element wore out due to the amount of use it gets.
I had a specific purpose for the vacuum-sealer, which was to seal badge holders down to the zip lock. However, I faced difficulty in retaining the bond of vinyl badgeholders once I cut it.
Sometimes the vacuum-sealer seals and sometimes it doesn't, even on the same material.
I struggled to seal bags properly with the sealer, leaving them susceptible to air and moisture, which defeated the whole purpose of using a heat sealer.
