I have compared two vacuum sealers, one big and one small. The big one is bulky to get out of the cabinet, set up, wait till ready, and it melts certain type bags.
For thinner plastics, a quick light press works. However, too much pressure or time will melt thin plastic.

I noticed that the vacuum-sealer heats up quickly and caution needs to be taken while using it. I like the small size of the vacuum-sealer and it is easy to handle. It is very hot and one needs to experiment with how many seconds to hold to seal and not melt the bag. I start with 2-3 seconds and work up from there.
