If you have longer legs or strides, it is suggested to get a longer belt. The 16” across is perfect for somewhat controlled runners who can stay centered, but the 40” may be too short for high-speed runners or those with longer strides.
For the price point and convenience, the belt is amazing, although it is not as long as some of the higher end models.
The belt works smoothly at all speeds, even with my 230 pounds on it.
