  • What users have to say about Sony HVLF20M MI Shoe External Flash for Alpha SLT NEX Black

I have been using a small flash on the DSC-R1 for a few days, but I wanted to go with a bigger flash on the DSC-RX10, as it is a bit larger and lighter than the DSC-R1 I had been using.

Technology has come a long way in the last few years, and I don't worry about going out in the dark because I use a flash indoors or for fill flash outside.

The Sony HVL-F20AM flash is a great flash for beginners, but until the shoe is integrated into the main body of the flash, I can't recommend it.

I have been able to get great results with two stacked VCL-M3358s and a 62mm to 58mm step down ring, as well as using the HVL-F20M and diffuser, which allows lighting the area of the macro objects even with the extra lens.

The HVL-F20M has a very smooth almost shadowless lighting to the area of coverage, thanks to the diffuser, and it all looks great on my new RX10, so I did this to put the white balance back to the same color temperature as the flash itself.

Can this flash cause camera flashes to stop?

This HVLF20M FLASH unit can control off camera flash units as per the printed instructions arriving with the HVLF20M package.

Is the flash compatible with the Sony A7 II?

Yes. The A7 use a regular hot shoe, Sony Alpha SLT DSLR use some odd one, and this is the only flash that you don't need an accessory for.

Will the HVLF20M work with the a6000?

I can only offer my own reaction to this camera, but built-in flash on RX-100-2 worked better than HVLF20M.

Is this flash compatible with the Sony A3000?

I don't believe the HVLF20M is compatible with the NEX-7, and I use the HVLF20M with a NEX 6, a newer model than the NIE-7, and the first of the NEX line to use a new style of Sony flash shoe.

Is this flash compatible with a Sony hx 50v camera?

The HVLF20s bolt on flash is required in the 5R.
