The robotic vacuum works great on hardwoods/tile/concrete flooring.
The Shark IQ robotic vacuum easily moves from hardwood to carpeted surfaces and consistently cleans both surfaces.
For laminate, wooden, or tile floors, a lighter vacuum is more appropriate, while a heavy vacuum cleaner is required for carpets.
On wood floors, the vacuum does not perform as well as it does on carpets.
77% liked the noise level, but 23% didn't
Even at max power, our robotic vacuum is quieter than a regular upright vacuum.
The vacuum is not loud while working unless I am right next to it.
I have tested this vacuum and found that it is not the quietest, but still not distracting. You can easily watch television or carry on a conversation in the same room with it.
The vacuum is not the quietest but it is not distractingly loud either.
When the vacuum self-empties the on board bin, the noise level increases significantly and it sounds like an airplane taking off.
72% highlighted the dustbin capacity, but 28% didn't find them exceptional
The dustbin needs to be emptied once a month, depending on the amount of dust and debris I vacuum daily.
The dustbin size of ION and IQ is reasonable and can complete the entire house run without stopping to be emptied.
The onboard bin needs to be emptied after each cleaning, especially if you have pets. The instructions say it needs to be emptied at least once a month, but it depends on usage and dirt or pet hair picked up.
Due to dog hair, I have to empty IQ XL 3-4 times every cleaning.
68% appreciated the filteration system
The vacuum's high-efficiency filter can be attractive for someone with severe allergies.
68% were satisfied with the weight and maneuverability
I can easily move the vacuum onto elevated surfaces and go over pretty thick carpet, including shag rug.
83% liked the suction power, but 17% didn't like
The Shark IQ can pick up debris of any size, from fine dust particles to cereal-sized debris, from the ground.
The suction power of our vacuum is quite strong, although not as strong as Roombas.
For its size, the suction power is not as great as a regular vacuum cleaner, but it does a great job.
The suction power is strong and it picks up a lot of dirt and debris.
I was impressed with the suction power of the robotic vacuum at the ECO level, which is the least strong suction setting, due to my experience with pet hair and debris.
After three passes, I noticed that the vacuum was unable to pick up all the sand.
I have noticed that the vacuum lacks sufficient suction power to pick up kibble.
The vacuum cleaned the house in under 3 hours, compared to the previous robot vacuum which took over 8+ hours.
