What users have to say about PUR PPT700W 7 Cup Basic Water Filtration Pitcher
Thexa0, xa0 is my favorite water filtration pitcher, but there are a few things that could have been improved.
The build quality and design of the products is excellent, and there are two advantages over similar products: 1) The filter that PUR uses (as of July 2016) does a slightly better job than the ones in Britta jugs, and 2) the chamber that holds water prior to filters is larger than that
The ones I've tested are not the fastest filters in the world, nor are they as slow as Zero or some of the others., but the flap in the top is a pain, and I liked the solid top of the old style better.
The filter doesn't work as well after a couple of weeks, but you can shake it out and it will work again.
The filling basin is small and easy to overfill, which means you have to fill it 4-5 times and will have to use the filter basin if you accidentally overfill it.
Since this doesn't have an LED light to indicate when the filter needs changing, how do you know when to do it?
If you have an average use, you can go much further than the suggested time.
Is it necessary to remove the lid to fill it?
If you want to remove the lid, you can fill the hole with a cover that swings up.
Is it possible to use brita filters?
I have some Brita filters that are small and not well suited for the PUR.
Does the unit come with replacement filters?
It's just the one and easy to find anywhere.
I dropped and broke the top of the older model 7 cup model. Will this top fit it?
I would say yes, but you never know. Sometimes little changes are mad.
