The metal detector does not discriminate accurately. It picks up signals but it is difficult to determine if it is a pop-cap, gold ring or silver dime without having unearthed the target. I have tested it with gold, silver and coins and found that it is all over the place, so one needs to prepare to dig a lot of holes.
