I have tried both sides of the mattress and found that the soft side is the way to go. The firm side feels like laying on the floor.
Although I thought I made a mistake by ordering a squishy mattress for my guest room, my guest loved it and found it super comfy and easy to sleep on. I also slept on it for a couple of weeks and noticed that the memory foam still cradled my body and was supportive, so my hips didn't dip or cause my spine to not be level.
Even the softer side of the mattress is still too hard for me. I had to add a memory foam mattress topper to get the right amount of softness I needed.

The mattress is perfect for me and my wife. It has the right firmness/softness and greatly helped with my back problems. My wife, who is pregnant, loves the comfort and feel of this new mattress. It doesn't sink in like our old one did, especially when she sleeps on one side.
