Anytime metal rubs against metal, there is a risk of scuffing and scratching, which can cause damage to the knives. This is a significant design flaw and can be a concern for the material durability of knife-cases-holders-protectors.
The only downside of the product is that it is made like a book with pages, which could cause the knives to drop out and bang against each other if they are not tight in place during transit.
