About Marcy Multifunction Steel Home Gym System
89% found the cable system smooth; however, 11% experienced cable sticking or fraying
I faced an issue with the cabling system of my home gym, which was either stretched out or manufactured too long. I contacted the manufacturer and after a couple of months of emails, they finally sent out a replacement set of cables. I had to adjust my workouts due to this issue. The cable system of home-gyms received negative feedback from me.
87% found it easy to assemble; however, 13% encountered missing parts or unclear instructions
I found the assembly easy until I got to the pulleys and cables. There were no assembly words, only pictures, which made it difficult to determine left from right side parts and orientation of parts. Better pictures and words are needed.
80% found the resistance system effective; however, 20% experienced issues like snapping or wear
I do not like the weight stack because it is sand-filled plastic weights that come in 15-pound increments and there is no way to slightly increase weight resistance as I progress.
If you pull too much, the weights get jammed at the top of the system and I lose resistance, so I have to manually pull them down.
When I do tricep pull downs, the weight goes all the way to the top and the screw gets stuck in the hole. Some movements require more length from the system.
81% liked the weight stack; however, 19% found it too light or not adjustable enough
The weight stack is made of sand-filled plastic bricks and sand is leaching out from the sides.
