About POLAR H9 Heart Rate Sensor
64% liked the connectivity, while 36% disagreed
I suggest using a small spray bottle filled with tap water to improve the initial heart rate detection.
When I bicycle outdoors, the Ant+ connection to my handlebar mounted Fenix5 is not reliable due to weak signal.
67% found it water resistant, but 33% raised concerns
I found that misting the sensor portion of the strap with water using a spray bottle is important for proper functionality.
I added water to the strap of my heart-rate-monitor before starting workouts, expecting it to be water-resistant. However, it failed to function properly even after taking this precaution.
65% appreciated the battery life, however, 35% didn't
When I'm not using it, I disconnect the heart-rate-monitor from the belt to extend battery life. I wish it had a proper on/off switch.
My major issue with the heart-rate-monitor is that I can only use the strap for about 2 weeks before needing to change the battery.
I used the Polar H9 with strap for about 20 minutes per workout, three times a week with HRV Logger on my iPhone and it went through 2+ batteries in 27 months.
I found the heart-rate-monitor's battery life frustrating. I had to replace it every three weeks, which was horrible. Taking the monitor off of the strap extended the battery life to four weeks.
