I use these rods for casting spinners and spoons to Alaska salmon in open water. The moderate action and soft tips allow me to easily feel the thump thump thump of spinner blades, and the wobbling action of spoons, things that are near impossible with fast action sticks.
I find the rod comfortable to use while landing big fish and keeping pressure on them.
