After reading other reviews, I did not face any of the mentioned problems. It's possible that other users did not keep it far enough from other things for proper ventilation or got a defective product.
I have only 3 inches above and around for the vents to work properly, but the factory information says to allow 12 inches above.

The microwave is fast and evenly cooks everything. Compared to my previous 700 watt microwave, I don't have to set the time and double it, and it cooks much better.
After using the Farberware unit for about a month, I noticed that the moisture sensor will randomly engage, lowering the power level to 8, which results in undercooked or partially raw food.
I noticed that the microwave is intermittently cooking at 80% power when using the preset express cook functions.
Sometimes the cooking levels do not work and frozen dinners do not cook thoroughly.
