About Lodge Tempered Glass Lid (12 Inch) Fits Lodge 12 Inch Cast Iron Skillets and 7 Quart Dutch Ovens
Overall Feedback:
79% positive
73% liked the modern and stylish design, though 27% thought it was outdated
I expected the rubber lid to not get hot, but it does and now it's a bit wiggly.
I received the lid with a dent on the bottom side metal lining.
74% found it easy to clean, while 26% experienced difficulties
I suggest using a toothpick to remove debris and unscrewing the handle to enhance cleaning and drying of the lid.
I have been using the product for 3 years and it works great with all types of pans of the same size. It is dishwasher safe and has been washed hundreds of times.
I have complained about the lid's rim having a small gap that is hard to clean and can trap food, causing dried up old food to fall into the dish while cooking.
The handle is difficult to clean around if I don't take it off.
78% found the handles comfortable to grip, while 22% thought they were too small
I like the silicon nob at the top of the lid, it is grippy and cool to the touch.
I am satisfied with the product.
I feel that the lid handle is fragile due to the loose silicone covering a metal knob.
The handle turned into a small hard ball, which is not comfortable to grip.
79% appreciated the heat resistance, though 21% experienced hotspots
I expected the rubber cookware to not get hot, but it does and now it's a bit wiggly.
I used the lid in the oven and set it to 390 degrees because it is safe up to 400 degrees.
My knob came off like popcorn or fireworks, suggesting it's not heat resistant.
When I put the cookware handle in the oven at 350F, it melted into a tiny hard plastic ball.
While cooking, the silicone handle separated from the lid. This may be due to the heat resistance of the cookware-bakeware-lids.
74% appreciated the secure lid fit, though 26% experienced steam leakage
There is a small gap in the rim of the lid which can trap food and is difficult to clean.
I have complained that the knob to lift the lid is not strong enough to support the weight of the heavy lid. It is made of hard rubber and attached with one little screw, without any brackets to support it, causing the screw to loosen easily.
It's difficult to put the lid back on once it cools down, which I think is a flaw in the product.
The pot lid handle is made of plastic/rubber and the threading that holds the lid together wears down within a month, causing the handle to fall off.
73% praised for its durable construction, while 27% experienced chipping
I suggest using a toothpick to remove debris from the inside lip of the lid while cleaning.
My observation is that the basic problem with the handle is the use of a steel screw in a threaded plastic handle.
I tightened the metal screw and the plastic retaining nut stripped, rendering the whole lid useless.
My plastic knob housing has been shredded by the metal machine screw and it will not attach.
The silicone seal on the pot lid doesn't scratch the ceramic coating on my pans, which proves its good design.
