It is helpful to have a small tool box with necessary tools for chainsaw use and maintenance, along with basic first aid.
The vise allows for quick and convenient chain sharpening right at the work site.
By installing this product in a log or big branch and sharpening the blade, I can quickly get back to work if I dull the chain saw blade and slow down the work.
A small tool box with the bar stand, sharpening kit, files, and other necessary tools for chainsaw use and maintenance, along with some basic first aid, can be helpful.
I recommend this tool for its usefulness, price and efficiency in sharpening chainsaw right at the work site.
It's a great idea to keep the chain sharp if I'm up in the woods all day.
I think the spikes could be longer and should pop out of wood after hammering in. Maybe the slick paint is causing the issue. I plan to file small notches in the sides to see if that helps it bite into the wood.
My device became useless when the backing arm sheered clean off while I was attempting to drive it into a stump.
70% liked the optimal bar length, but 30% found it short
This stump vise is ideal for holding the bar still while sharpening the saw.
I tried to drive the device into a stump and the backing arm sheered clean off, rendering it useless.
80% praised the build quality, while 20% found it flimsy
The product has a simple design and is made well. However, the spikes' angles are geared towards softwood, which may not be suitable for hardwood. I had to use an angle grinder to fix the angles, and it holds 5x better this way.
The product has a cheap and crooked sticker half stuck on. It's just China junk with a sticker.
77% praised the high-quality chain, while 23% found it broke easily
Sharpening the chain has become much easier for me now.
The vise allows quick and convenient chain sharpening right at the work site.
I noticed that the chain saw blade dulls easily and slows down the work.
The chain saw blade dulls easily and slows down my work.
71% liked the handle design, but 29% found it uncomfortable
I had to use an angle grinder to fix the angles of spikes designed for softwood, which is not suitable for hardwood. It seems to hold 5x better this way.
82% were satisfied with the safety features, but 18% weren't
The tool holds fast to a stump or a felled tree trunk with just a couple smacks with a hammer.
The gripping surfaces are smooth, not grippy.
My backing arm sheered clean off when I tried to drive it into a stump, rendering the device useless.
I gave 4 stars because the plastic packaging was difficult to open and nearly defeated my kitchen shears.
