About Pandemic
Overall Feedback:
95% positive
91% appreciated the perfect difficulty level
I find the game to have a high level of difficulty and replay-ability, with rules to make it harder once you've mastered the basics.
92% praised the gentle learning curve, while 8% found it too steep
The game is reasonably easy to learn for someone who plays role-playing games like D&D, Munchkin, Pathfinder, etc.
The game is relatively easy to learn and not difficult to teach or pick up.
It took my parents 10-20 games to fully understand the logic and possible moves of the game, indicating a learning curve that may not be easy for everyone.
95% praised the engaging gameplay experience
The gameplay experience is always unique as players draw roles with special abilities and the setup mechanic produces randomized locales of infection, epidemics, and near-outbreak. The occurrence of Epidemic cards is also randomized by shuffling, resulting in significant infection events happening at different stages each game.
92% liked the high-quality components, but 8% found them flimsy
The card quality is very nice with air cushioning, which should hold up well.
The quality of the materials is not good. I have faced the problem of cards peeling back and several others were starting to peel apart at the edges and others looked like they were about ready to go.
I am disappointed with the build quality of the board game. The plastic pieces are cheap and one of the connections on the board is missing.
I received a poor-quality plastic version of the game with cheap plastic tokens and half-visible printings, indicating a negative experience with the material quality of the board game.
The bags that the pieces come in are either fragile or the zipper on the bag is too secure. Every bag I opened ripped the opening plastic above the zipper.
The material quality of the game is poor. The bags are cheap plastic and not durable, there are no card holders, and the card quality is average. The interior design for the game pieces and cards is inadequate for extended use. My set already has rips in the plastic bags and a bent card.
The cubes in my copy of Pandemic were of poor manufacturing quality.
I found the game easy to play but difficult to master, indicating that I could learn and understand it easily, but winning required skill.
