About JBL Charge 4 - Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Overall Feedback:
72% positive
77% found the battery long-lasting, yet 23% reported unexpected drainage
I am disappointed with the battery life of the speaker. My older speaker still functions the same as when I purchased it, while the newer speaker is stuck on 4 after being charged for more than 16 hours.
The speaker turns off by itself and drains the battery even when plugged in. This is negative feedback on the battery life feature of our Bluetooth speakers.
70% appreciated the compatibility with voice assistants, yet 30% found it inconsistent
I found it easy to connect the speakers to each other and to any Bluetooth device, including Bluetooth capable TVs.
I can easily connect the unit with my phone and it stays connected.
I didn't find any mention of voice assistant compatibility in the review.
I tried streaming Spotify and Sirius but the audio kept skipping and strangely speeding up the music, indicating a compatibility issue with the voice assistants of the Bluetooth speakers.
93% found it easy to connect, however 7% encountered issues
For my 30x40 garage space, the speaker provides pretty good sound considering its size and purpose.
I was unable to get the stereo mode to work properly.
90% found it easy to connect, but 10% faced difficulties in pairing
I use both speakers to create surround sound in the living room or one in the bedroom and one in the living room for total sound around the apartment.
The device can be used with almost every device.
I have tried using the JBL connect feature with a pair of speakers, but I cannot get the stereo mode to work properly.
The phone app is only helpful for updating and connecting multiple speakers.
Connecting the two speakers can be cumbersome and tedious, and sometimes sound only comes out of one then the other and then they match up.
81% praised the compact and portable design, although 19% found it bulky
For the size and purpose of my 30x40 garage space, the speaker provides good sound.
I wish I had bought it after the Charge 4 was upgraded to link to a second speaker for larger areas.
The speaker is bigger, heavier, and more awkward to carry than the smaller JBL speaker. It is not any louder and there is no detectable superiority in low end.
The speaker is compact and desirable, and it may be borrowed or stolen if not closely supervised.

The speaker's battery life is 24 hours as mentioned on the box. Although I haven't tested it to that extent, it has lasted for a few sessions without a charge.
