I was able to scan using the downloaded Canon app from my iPhone via the App Store and it worked.
I connected the printer to the network and my PC by following these steps: downloading the manual from the Canon website, accessing the printer's menu, wifi settings, and attempting the easy set up. When I discovered that easy set up was only for printers already connected to the network, I switched to Manual Setup. I searched for my network, entered the password, and downloaded the latest driver from the Canon Support site. Finally, I found the printer in my laptop's printer settings.
I was unable to connect the printer to my computer via Wi-Fi, but I believe it was a computer issue.
I tried to connect the printer with two different wireless networks and my phone, but none of them worked.
