About Honeywell InSight HPA5300 HEPA Air Purifier
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
85% highlighted the energy consumption, but 15% raised issues
I have compared the energy consumption of two air-purifiers and found that the Coway 400 provides greater air purification than the Honeywell while consuming less energy.
The red light comes on at the start and turns to green with 1-2 minutes. It doesn't change after leaving the unit on for hours.
86% were satisfied with the size and portability, but 14% were not
The air-purifier is quite large and can be inconvenient to move or store when not in use for a long time.
The air purifier is rather bulky to move and not on wheels.
78% appreciated the quiet operation, but 22% were disappointed
At the lowest level, the air-purifier is very quiet but a little too loud at the higher levels.
I have noticed that the noise level is louder than others, but it is not at a nuisance level and is only prevalent at the highest speed level.
The Honeywell 5300 air purifier has two sounds, one of which is a rattling sound that modulates low to high, making it much more disconcerting than a steady-state sound.
I noticed that the air-purifier has a loud motor humming noise on high/turbo settings and a rattling noise coming from the motor with a less audible motor hum on the quiet/medium settings, as well as auto mode (which defaults to quiet).

The air-purifier is portable and of a good size. I set it next to my computer and found that it moves a lot of air with a moderately acceptable noise level.
I chose a Coway Air Mega 250s to control smoke at my sofa table. It works well in eating smoke despite not being the most modern looking device.
