I used different techniques with each frame to make them look slightly different, with some being lighter/darker, some just stained, and others with a wood texture added.
After several coats of staining, it looks completely unfinished.

After applying the stain and letting it dry, I applied some wipe on oil based poly which removed the varathane stain I applied. This resulted in me having to rework the stain again.
