About Wood Carving Tools Pack of 15- Includes Black Walnut Handle Wood Carving Knife
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
80% praised for its razor-sharp blade, while 20% found it dulled quickly
All straight blades came sharp and sturdy for their purpose and can be re-sharpened easily. However, the curved blade (scoop) is not very sharp and came with some blade deformation. I couldn't figure out how to put an edge on it with the stone and strop that came with the set.
The knives are sharpish but need a bit of work to make them carving sharp.
I can sharpen the blades, but they do not hold an edge for long.
78% found it to be extremely durable, while 22% experienced breakage
My main concern was that the gloves would be too tight because I have large hands.
The blades can be sharpened, but they do not hold an edge for long, indicating poor durability of the wood-carving tools.
I suggest that the tool needs frequent honing and the steel is a bit soft. I would like to upgrade to a better knife with better steel.
76% liked the comfortable design, but 24% found it slippery
I have large hands and was worried that the gloves would be too tight. However, I found that the set is good for any level of carver except for children's use.
The curved blade (scoop) is not very sharp and I can not figure out how to put an edge on it with the stone and strop that came with the set. Specialty rounded sharpening stones for khukris or karambits or other curved blades might be able to sharpen it, but needing specialty gear takes away from it being for beginners in my opinion.
77% appreciated the precise, though 23% struggled with stability
I am using the tool for small carvings and planning to move on to more complex projects like duck decoys, indicating its precision for such projects.
I have complained that the curved blade of the wood-carving tool is not sharp and has some deformation. I couldn't figure out how to sharpen it with the stone and strop that came with the set.
I found the kit extremely difficult to work with, even when using a sharp knife. It was like carving a stone with a debit card.
66% liked the perfect size and weight, but 34% found it heavy
The handles of the wood-carving-tools are really thick, making it difficult for me to handle.
All straight blades came sharp and sturdy for their purpose and can be re-sharpened easily. However, the curved blade (scoop) is not very sharp and came with some blade deformation. I couldn't figure out how to put an edge on it with the stone and strop that came with the set.
I have cut myself while using the knife because it is very sharp.
