The jacket is pretty darn waterproof and dries inside in a jiffy when it gets wet.
The jacket is wind and rain resistant and kept me dry during pouring rain. It was a lifesaver in recent snow and rain storms. I wore it multiple times while walking my dogs in pouring rain and it kept me dry every time.
