I purchased a Wi-Fi extender with a coverage range of up to 3500 sq.ft and a 35 device wireless signal booster repeater with an ethernet port to extend internet WiFi to my home devices.
My WiFi extender consistently provides slow speeds despite being placed within 10 feet of the modem and living in a 1500 sq.ft. area.
The Wi-Fi extender is easy to install, but it doesn't cover up to 3500 square feet as advertised. The range is nonexistent beyond 25-30 feet away.

I had a previous extender that was working fine but it was 2.4 Ghz versus 5.0 Ghz and I wanted to speed up the remote wifi. When I did bring this unit closer to my gateway and it connected, when using this extender wifi signal and running a Speedtest tool, it was reducing the speed to 1/3 the Mbps rate when I connected directly to my gateway. This was true for both 5.0 and 2.4 Ghz modes.
