About Vilo Mesh Wi-Fi System Dual Band AC1200 Coverage Up to 4,500 sq ft
68% praised the intuitive app, but 32% struggled
Despite some issues, I find the app to have a good amount of controllable aspects.
The setup of the product requires an Android or iOS app.
The app has limited advanced features, but the company is updating it with the same features.
I faced difficulty in connecting the app to the first device and spent two hours trying to add a sub-unit, but failed.
76% praised the coverage area, but 24% found dead spots
The mesh WiFi system has strong coverage everywhere in my home.
Expanding the coverage of the mesh WiFi system is easy by buying an additional unit and adding it to the existing network.
In deadzone areas, the system brought a stable connection, but did not significantly increase speed in areas with decent wifi signal.
Our church, being a very old Gothic structure, is able to carry the wireless signal through the Vilo system.

78% liked the customizable settings, yet 22% found them limited
I was able to set up my home router in bridge mode even though my ISP did not allow it, thanks to the unit's support for NAT over NAT.
The system is missing some advanced setup options in the app, including NATing, DMZ, etc.
76% found it easy to set up, while 24% had trouble
I installed all three units easily in about 30 minutes.
Setting up was super easy, I wouldn't even call it an installation. Here are the steps to set it up.
The installation went along well enough and was not too hard.
I like the easy setup, but the product performance is not good.
70% liked the ability to support many devices
After using Vilo, I am consistently getting 5-6 times more speed, reaching speeds of 160-200 mbps. I have about a dozen smart switches, about 5 echos, and about 5-6 devices (computers, phones, tablets, etc) connected via WiFi.
The device supports several 2.4 and 5 GHz devices and they all work.
75% appreciated the performance, but 25% experienced issues
After using this mesh system, I have zero WiFi issues. I plugged one of the units into my internet provider's modem/router which likely helps.
In a challenging scenario where the signal had to travel through multiple windows and a cellular shade, the system is performing spectacularly well.
The performance is very unreliable with the signal sinking to single digit Mbps for hours, forcing a hard restart.
I have to go around again to regain connectivity as the product keeps dropping connection without any reason.
74% were impressed with the security features
My mesh router system runs my WiFi and security cameras all over the house, detached garage and yard.
Excellent software quality is an important feature in any system, and Vilo delivers just that.
Isolating smart devices from the main network can increase the security of our home network.
I had a problem once and the support was really helpful.
