About TP-Link Deco WiFi 6 Mesh WiFi System(Deco X20)
80% praised the intuitive app, but 20% struggled
I had a good experience with the customer support. The support person was patient and walked me through all the steps repeatedly.
The overlapping security software to address potential intrusions or hijacking the system is the only confusing part.
I am frustrated with the app of the system and do not have the time or inclination to write a lengthy review about it.
The updated firmware allowed me to choose the unit I want my device to connect to and prioritize the band. However, it knocked out my ability to cast Youtube and Netflix from my phone to my streaming devices and disabled screen mirroring/airplay to my TV.

82% praised the coverage area
I used the mesh wifi system on a 5000 sq ft area on 2 floors in a triangular pattern to get the best coverage.
I am getting up to 925 Mbps download and 323 Mbps upload in my 4,000 square ft house.
83% liked the customizable settings, yet 17% found them limited
Based on my personal experience, I suggest customizing the WiFi mesh system by setting each device as an access point instead of using the default WiFi router setting if there are ethernet ports in opposing locations.
The updated firmware allowed customization settings but it knocked out my ability to cast Youtube and Netflix from my phone to my streaming devices and disabled screen mirroring/airplay to my tv.
82% found it easy to set up, while 18% had trouble
Setting up was easy and it took less than 30 minutes to arrange the optimal connection.
The setup and app were easy to use, but I had to revert back to my old router due to subpar performance.
I am frustrated with the setup of the mesh system. Every interaction with the hardware or software is problematic and I have no idea how a normal person would make it work.
86% liked the ability to support many devices, but 14% didn't
After contacting Deco support and speaking with Bruce Pacers, I was able to get a greater amount of speed to my various devices.
For better WiFi set up, use ethernet ports in 2 opposing locations and set each device as an access point instead of using the default Wifi Router setting.
One of our satellite units is not connecting to the main unit.
85% appreciated the performance, but 15% experienced issues
I used the system on a 5000 sq ft area on 2 floors in a triangular pattern to get the best coverage.
The powerline is not a magic solution, but it gets signal to places where I could not otherwise get it and provides respectable throughput everywhere in my house.
The new router does not cover my home as well as the old ATT router.
I am dissatisfied with the wifi router's performance as it constantly loses connection and has slow wifi speed.

84% were impressed with the security features, although 16% weren't
I faced a privacy issue when a service person showed up and got an alert that someone had entered my network. I solved the issue by jumping online and getting help from tech service. They were fabulous, very nice, helpful, and fast.
The IOT network feature is fantastic, but the SSID of the additional network cannot be hidden.
I have to pay a monthly subscription to access the Deco mesh network's security features, which I thought were included in my purchase.
The updated firmware allowed me to choose the unit I want a device to connect to and prioritize the band. However, it knocked out my ability to cast Youtube and Netflix from my phone to my streaming devices and disabled screen mirroring/airplay to my tv.
