About TP-Link Deco Powerline Mesh WiFi 6 System (Deco PX50)
Overall Feedback:
72% positive
80% praised the intuitive app, but 20% struggled
I find the overlapping security software a little confusing to address potential intrusions or hijacking my system. However, I am working to understand it better.
The updated firmware caused issues with casting Youtube and Netflix from my phone to streaming devices and disabled screen mirroring/airplay to my TV.
I had a negative experience with the app and interface of the whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-systems. I had to call the live support line and spoke with Ice who was very patient and walked me through all the steps repeatedly. It turned out that the units were not reading each other and I needed a firmware update.
I was disappointed with the product. I wanted to like it, but had to revert back to my old router due to poor performance. The setup and app were easy to use.
82% praised the coverage area
I am getting up to 925 Mbps download and 323 Mbps upload depending on the time of day in my 4,000 square ft house.
81% liked the customizable settings, yet 19% found them limited
The updated firmware allowed for customization settings such as choosing the preferred unit for device connection and prioritizing the band. However, it disabled screen mirroring/airplay to the TV and knocked out the ability to cast Youtube and Netflix from my phone to streaming devices.
I am frustrated with the app, it may have limited customization settings or be difficult to use.
82% found it easy to set up, while 18% had trouble
I had to go back to my old router and was disappointed because I wanted to like the units. The setup and app were very easy to use.
86% liked the ability to support many devices, but 14% didn't
I haven't tested it yet, so there is no specific information or experience to map for this feature.
85% appreciated the performance
After switching to a competitor's system, I noticed a smoother setup and 50% more bandwidth at the router.
84% were impressed with the security features, although 16% weren't
I had a privacy issue with someone entering my network and solved it quickly by getting help online. The tech service is fabulous, nice, helpful, and fast.
The updated firmware lets me choose the unit I want my device to connect to and prioritize the band. However, it knocked out my ability to cast Youtube and Netflix from my phone to my streaming devices and disabled screen mirroring/airplay to my TV.
I find the overlapping security software a little confusing to address potential intrusions or hijacking my system. However, I am working to understand it better.
I find the android app interface really nice with more features than my previous wifi system. I can easily separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, isolate IoT devices, rename devices, schedule reboots, etc.
I am dissatisfied with the remote app as it is a waste of time and lacks necessary tools and features.
