About NETGEAR Nighthawk Advanced Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System MK63S
87% praised the intuitive app, but 13% struggled
I am frustrated with the software, specifically the nighthawk app/interface, which was the main issue with the product.
I faced difficulty in connecting to the phone app to set up the system.
96% praised the coverage area
Our system provides complete coverage in our 2500 sqft two-storey home.
In our 2,000 square foot home, the coverage and connect speeds are good in any room.
After using the mesh system, my split level home with basement has greatly improved coverage.
77% liked the customizable settings, yet 23% found them limited
Setting up MAC address filtering and port forwarding for my FTP server was straightforward, but the web UI is very sluggish and pages take forever to load, even over a wired connection.
I replaced my Orbi system which had a feature called Fast Roaming that I could enable in settings to address the issue of sticky roaming. However, the MK62 has nothing similar. Other (more expensive) systems not only have this feature but also let you adjust the sensitivity.
It is not possible to access the configuration page through a browser and separate 5g and 2.4g network SSIDs are not available.
91% found it easy to set up
I found the setup process quick and easy using the Netgear Nighthawk app.
I love how easy the setup was and how almost everything seamlessly switched over.
The Nighthawk Mesh system was easy to install and worked as described.
73% liked the ability to support many devices, but 27% didn't
The router supports all the devices I have been throwing at it.
The system can support many devices without any reduction in speed or coverage.
I have no connectivity issues in my home office after using the extender.
I had to hard reset the unit multiple times because it would not come back online after dozens of attempts. I have 30 devices in my wired house running on internet.

90% appreciated the performance, but 10% experienced issues
I have walked throughout the house and yard with both my iPhone and MacBook Air and am getting blazing fast signal with spectacular coverage.
The mesh system has a strong signal everywhere and there is no more dropping out. It also reaches 329 Mbps download speeds everywhere in my house.
After a power outage, I have to redo the wifi setup every time.
91% were impressed with the security features, although 9% weren't
The Armor feature provides me with peace of mind by offering a high level of support and protection for my environment.
I compared my old unit with the new unit and found that the old unit had lifetime tech support and malware/intrusion protection, while the new unit requires extra payment every year for these features.
I am having severe delayed response time problems with my security system and it is not recording all the activity.
The mesh system worked great until the security license expired. Now, I have to pay either $200 for 5 years or $300 for 'lifetime' to use the equipment. It's probably pointless since hardware becomes obsolete.
