About Amazon eero 6+ dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system
82% praised the intuitive app, but 18% struggled
I found the app to be very user-friendly and it allows for continuous monitoring of systems throughout my home.
I downloaded the eero app and followed the instructions to set up the first eero device's ethernet and power cables.
85% praised the coverage area, but 15% found dead spots
The mesh wifi system provides full coverage throughout my house (about 3,500 s.f.), including the outside for my Ring doorbells.
Installation was super easy and the coverage was great with a noticeable speed increase with our existing cable internet service.
I noticed that the advertised coverage was more than what our house required, but the actual coverage was much less than advertised. The actual coverage was much less than advertised.
I hoped the system would cover my 4,500 sq ft house as advertised, but it did not.
72% liked the customizable settings, yet 28% found them limited
I set up the EERO to put all my other devices on the normal wireless network, and a separate dedicated wireless network to my work computer.
The Eero 6+ MESH network doesn't have a web interface. It can only be accessed through the app on a phone or tablet. But, the app is user-friendly and well-designed.
I found on Reddit that the eero network resets every 24 hours, causing a 2-minute outage.
I suggest larger instructions.
85% found it easy to set up
Setting it up was very easy and it took around 20 minutes.
69% liked the ability to support many devices, but 31% didn't
I set up the EERO to support 22+ devices including iPads, TVs, thermostats, cameras, etc. on the normal wireless network and a separate dedicated wireless network for my work computer.
I have a mixed setup where I connected one node to the primary router using an ethernet cable.
I experience random connection drops with the product on my smart lightbulb, older Echo devices, and 2.4-only Kindles.
The mesh network setup costs $300 but cannot support basic 2.4ghz devices.
84% appreciated the performance, but 16% experienced issues
I have been using the system for two months now and the performance has been seamless. It is fast, reliable and has no outages.
I am disappointed with the product because I enjoyed the added performance, but half of my house no longer works.
Even when I sat next to the gateway, I only got 140Mbps and had insanely high latency.
Streaming speed is rarely more than 13mbs down and 3mbs up, and there is nothing I can do in Eero to change that.
76% were impressed with the security features, although 24% weren't
The app shows all devices connected to our Wi-Fi network, allowing us to nickname each device and group them under people's profiles, giving us a sense of reassurance that our network privacy is intact.
I am dissatisfied with the security package as it is too aggressive and blocked my connection to the company server while working from home.
After two months, my security cameras and door locks kept dropping due to the 2.4ghz overheating.
