The pump lasted for 2.5 years outside, completely exposed to the elements. However, after that time, the silver metal bracket between the motor and pump housing disintegrated and turned to "wet sand".
One of our pumps has been running fine for 2 years, but the newer one stopped working in less than 1 year.
My well-pump went out after 3 weeks and was cycling on and off several times a second, throwing sparks.
