About iRonsnow 5000mAh Emergency Crank Weather Radio
Overall Feedback:
82% positive
80% liked the long-lasting battery life, while 20% experienced short battery life
The battery life expectancy is over 3 years with more than 5000 charging cycles with 3 hours of daily use, as mentioned by the manufacturer.
On my YouTube channel, I tested the battery life and found that it can play the radio continuously for over 24 hours after a full charge.
I charged a 3100mAh battery by 10 percent in about 20 minutes and a Samsung Galaxy S8s 4000mAh battery one percent after about 4 minutes of cranking. Usually, 1 percent lasts for at least a couple of minutes.
The battery life ran down in less than 2 days without even using it.
When I put the battery in direct sunlight, the battery light comes on. However, even after hours of charging, it still won't turn on.
80% praised for its rugged design
The durability of the product is almost as good as my Sthil chainsaw which I have been using for 20 years.
The device is solid and the charging arm works great.
84% found the interface easy to use
It is easy to tune and has good enough sound.
AM, FM and weather are clear as a bell.
I tested the weather-radio and it worked fine. I feel comfortable keeping it in my emergency kit.
The weather band works fine and the announcer came on loud and clear as soon as I flipped the radio on.
86% liked its compact and lightweight design, while 14% found it bulky
Despite having an upgraded power storage capacity, the device is not compatible with charging modern phones/Android.
83% praised for its strong signal reception
I have found that the radio has good signal strength and usable sound quality/volume.
71% praised for its loud and clear sound
I was able to pickup a lot of AM and FM stations near me with good sound quality on the radio. I also picked up the local NOAA weather station loud and clear.
The radio has good sound quality/volume and picks up signals well.
The sound quality is good enough for emergency needs, but not for music listening.
Amazing battery life! I tested this radio during a week-long camping trip, and it kept running without needing a recharge. The solar panel topped it off during the day, and the hand crank was there if I needed it. This is a fantastic product for both outdoor adventures and emergencies.
I'm pleased to say that the battery indicator is still showing a full charge, which is unusual for other devices I've noticed battery drain issues on. This is one you want to be able to count on.
The battery life of this weather radio is very poor. I charged it via a USB charger and got only 30 minutes of FM radio. I also tried hand cranking it 100 rotations and got only 5 minutes of radio time.
