About Strathmore Paper (467-5 48 Sheet No 140 Watercolor Art Journal
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
71% found the perfect tooth and absorbency, while 29% had issues with paper buckling
When using very wet media such as watercolor, the paper is not very absorbent.
The pages feel kind of plastic-y and are not very absorbent.
When mixing pigments, I noticed that the paper does not absorb color evenly, resulting in an undesirable look.
71% appreciated minimal bleed and feathering, but 29% experienced excessive spreading
I have noticed that there is very little bleeding, indicating good bleed and feathering resistance of the paper.
I warn that the sketchbook bleeds through the back of the page. To prevent bleeding onto the page under it, I suggest using an extra buffer between them.
I tested the bleeding of the paper with a fine point sharpie and found that it definitely bleeds, which was expected due to the thin pages.
When using Prisma markers, the paper bleeds out a lot causing the color to spread to the back of the page.
I have found that the paper has perfect absorbency for watercolor painting, holding paint well and absorbing liquid at the perfect rate.
