I am not getting the 38 mile range, only 1.5 miles. It may work better in plains or desert with no buildings, powerlines or hills.
I tested the limits of the walkie-talkie's range and was not satisfied with its performance. I could only cover a distance of about 1.25 miles and it would not receive or transmit any further.
