About Greenworks 40V 21" Brushless (Smart Pace) Self-Propelled Lawn Mower
67% found it easy to maneuver; however, 33% struggled with turns or navigating around obstacles
I find the self-propelled controls odd and they require a lot of eye/hand coordination. Other mowers I've owned let this be the main propelled feature.
The Smart Pace feature was a total failure for me on this model. At first, I thought I just needed to get used to it, but eventually, I concluded that the problem was a physics problem.
68% found it provided a clean and even cut
I noticed that the lawn mower cut through the thick turf with a bit of a whine but gave a good height match and clean cut compared to less dense grass in other spots of my yard.
I compared the mower's power to a gas mower and found that it creates enough lift and cuts very nicely.
79% found it quiet; however, 21% complained about excessive noise levels
The mower is great as it doesn't have fumes, loud motor, or gas can. Although, the blade makes noise due to high RPM.
The lawn mower stops abruptly and I have to wait for 30 seconds or more to start it back up. It seems to be related to high grass areas or possibly damp grass.
75% found the height adjustment mechanism convenient
I advise adjusting the height to the highest level before mowing to avoid scalping the lawn. It's easy to set the level.
63% appreciated its grass collection system; however, 37% encountered issues like clogging or spilling
When mowing on uneven ground with clumps of thigh-high grass, I noticed that the mower tends to stall. However, it has no problem with pretty tall stiff grass and weeds.
I have never seen a single grass blade in the grass holder despite cutting the grass many times. The grass collection is poor.
65% liked its ergonomics; however, 35% experienced discomfort during prolonged use
If I engage the wheels through the power, I cannot pull the mower backwards. It feels like the wheels are locked and I have to wait 15 seconds for them to disengage and become free again.
The self-propelled feature feels awkward and the control mechanism pinches fingers between primary and secondary handles.
67% appreciated its engine power and performance
The mower has good power and cuts through thick turf with a bit of a whine, but gives a clean cut and good height match compared to less dense grass in other spots of my yard.
During my first trial run, I noticed that the mower had more suction to pick up grass clippings.
