I own the sturdiest voltage-tester ever with an IP67 dust & water rating, making it great for messy ceilings or outdoor use. It has a legit 6 drop rating, which I tested by dropping it from an 8 ladder onto tile and it works just fine. The rubberized housing makes it easier to hold onto with dry or cold hands and probably provides a little impact resistance.
After dropping it a few times, I find the device to be very durable.
