About TCRAYCH USB Audio Video Converter, VHS to Digital Converter
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
76% liked the perfect connectivity, but 24% found it lacking
If I capture the audio separately from the video, it will be in sync. But if I join the channels in the video capture, it will be out of sync.
I made the necessary connections between the 8mm camcorder and the capture device and snugly inserted it into a USB port on the side of my MacBook Pro.
I experienced lots of buzzing with the product's audio, but virtually none with the GV-USB2 using the same exact cables.
I connected my VCR directly to the TV and found that the TV channels were not there, indicating an issue with the video-converter connectivity.
78% liked the long-lasting durability, but 22% found it wore out quickly
There is a 1 second delay between the SVIDEO input and audio input when I make it to the computer.
The device works fine for short videos, but starts to have issues after 30 minutes of recording or being plugged into a PC for a few hours.
The video converter overheated quickly and corrupted my recordings.
81% found it easy to install, while 19% had difficulties in it
The cable comes with the necessary software to do the job.
The instructions that came with the product were not great.
77% appreciated the high-quality output, though 23% noticed a loss in quality
The GV-USB2 has better picture quality and passes both fields through to the computer for smooth 60 frames per second footage deinterlacing.
The picture and sound quality is fine and it has the required functionality for recording.
I captured some footage from an ancient camcorder using the capture device. The capture quality is reasonably high, considering it is an NTSC signal source.
Depending on the tapes used, the quality of our digitized videos may vary.
Occasionally, the color video would fade to black and white and get striping in it.
67% liked the sound quality, but 33% found it got bad
I noticed that the signal to the computer was of good quality, indicating that the sound quality of the video converter is good.
The sound quality of the video converter is good as the signal to the computer is of good quality.
While using the product, I noticed lots of buzzing in the audio. However, with the GV-USB2 and the same exact cables, I experienced virtually no buzzing.
Sometimes the color video gets striping and occasionally fades to black and white.
I chose to order from this company because of its decent rating and reviews that confirmed it would work for what I needed it for. The real bonus was that it came with an adapter, which I knew most people probably have spares around but it was the only one I found that came with one and I knew my grandfather didn't have any so it was nice that we didn't have to worry about that.
I found the installation easy and it worked perfectly on the first try.
