I did not experience the popping sound with the supplied VHS to DVD 3.0 SE capture software, but I prefer to use OBS Studio based on available features and supported formats.
I had a problem with the connectivity of the video converter, but it was resolved by using a different type of cable.
I was pleasantly surprised when the unit arrived and found it easy to hook up. The software suggested by the manufacturer was easy to learn and use.
The USB connection can become disconnected in the middle of a transfer if not careful.
